SPRUCE UP MSP

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY

 

We would like to showcase Minneapolis as never before.  The Minneapolis St.
Paul area is expecting 45,000 visitors including 15,000 media agencies from
all over the world to attend the RNC convention September 1 - 4, 2008.
Minneapolis, St. Paul and Bloomington will be joining efforts to clean up
and spruce up, and identifying locations for volunteers to clean up in their

Minneapolis Clean-Up Day will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
Below are the details:

 

.       Meeting location for Minneapolis volunteers is the Metrodome.  The
volunteer area will be in the back parking lot of the Metrodome.  Enter on
11th Ave and 5th Street and the volunteer tent will be located in the NE
corner.  Parking is free.

.       Hours are from 7:30 am - 1:00 pm for volunteers to get assignments.
Actual clean up will go past 1:00 pm but assignments need to be disbursed by
1:00 pm.  Assignments will be given as volunteers arrive.  

.       First 150 volunteers will receive free tickets to the red hot
Minnesota Twins game that day at 2:55 pm against the Seattle Mariners. 

.       Supplies, trash bags, etc. will be provided.  You don't need to
bring anything except a willingness to clean up Minneapolis.  

.       Groups are welcomed and encouraged.

.       Light beverages and snacks will be provided.
