[DMNA] DMNA to host focus group meeting on NRP Phase I Plan - Thursday, April 17, at 6:30 p.m.

Good Afternoon DMNA Supporters:

Just a reminder that the DMNA is hosting a focus group meeting on Thursday,
April 17, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Hennepin Center for the Arts
5th floor conference room to review and discuss the DMNA Phase I NRP Plan.  

The purpose of the meeting is to gain input from board members and
community members regarding the success of Phase I NRP strategies.  

Joe Kapper, the DMNA intern from the U of MN, will be faciltating the
meeting.  Following are some potential discussion questions:

What do you like about the Downtown community?

What is something NRP has done for the Downtown community?

In your view, has DMNA’s NRP Phase I implementation occurred according to
the goals set out in the original plan?  Why or why not?

Looking back, do you think that the original plan addressed the most
important issues in the Downtown community?

Could the DMNA NRP Phase I Action Plan have been implemented better?  What
are the lessons learned?

Name the greatest successes that came out of DMNA’s NRP Phase I Action Plan?

How have the Downtown neighborhoods changed or improved over the past 8 to
10 years?

What is the one thing that you would change about your neighborhood?

What community issues should be prioritized in DMNA’s NRP Phase II Action
Plan?  Are these new issues, or are they the same as in the Phase I NRP
Action Plan?

What is the one thing that should be a top priority for DMNA’s NRP Phase II
Action Plan?

Should the Downtown community plan for NRP Phase II using the same process
/ methodology as was used for NRP Phase I planning?  Why or why not?

Please plan to attend if you have an interest in the future of NRP in the
Downtown community.  Please bring your friends and neighbors as well, and
pass the word on to people who may have been involved in writing the Phase
I Plan.  Refreshments will be served.
