May 21st.Ballpark AreaConstruction Update5/18/07
CONSTRUCTION ALERT This Update is the fourth in a series of
informationalalerts to let you  know about the construction
going onrelated to the Twins Ballpark. At 6 am Monday May
21, 2007, 3rd Avenue North from theentrance of 394 to  7th
Street North will close to alltraffic, vehicle and
pedestrian. This  road is being removedto accommodate the
building of the new Twins ball  park andwill not re-open.
Signed detours are posted.  Anyone using3rd  Avenue North
south of 5th Street North will end up onwestbound I-394.At
the same time the Cedar Lake Bike Trail will close to
alltraffic for  up to 2 months from Dunwoody Blvd./Linden
Ave.to 12th St. N./3rd Ave. N.  while some work takes place
onthe ball park. Once that work is completed  the trail
willbe re-established in July to its current 3rd Avenue
terminus to accommodate bicycle and foot traffic.
Signeddetours are  posted.  While the Cedar Lake Trail is
closedfor two months, MnDOT will  use this opportunity to
paintthe Interstate 94 bridges located under the  Cedar
Laketrail. This part of the bridge painting project
isanticipated  to be completed in approximately three
weeks,weather permitting. The 5th St. North bridge between
3rd Avenue North and 5thAvenue North  remains closed to all
traffic, vehicle andpedestrian, until sometime late  fall of
2007. Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to drive and
walkcarefully,  expect delays, and allow extra time to
