Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association Annual Meeting

The Downtown Minneapolis Neighborhood Association's Annual Meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, at 6:30 p.m., at the Mill City Museum
(704 South Second Street - 612-341-7555)

Come early for a 6:00 p.m. showing of "Minneapolis in 19 Minutes Flat."  The
film stars local humorist Kevin Kling in a whirlwind tour of our fair city -
how we harnessed a waterfall, survived grain explosions, built skyscrapers
and skyways, danced to polkas, punk and Prince, won the World Series and
along the way, ate a lot of sauerkraut.  

No worries if you can't make the 6:00 p.m. showing.  The film will run again
at 9:00 p.m., after the meeting concludes.  

This year's Annual Meeting agenda includes the following speakers:

.	Chief of Police Tim Dolan and representatives from the First
Precinct, including Inspector Janee Harteau and Sector Lieutenants Mike Kjos
and Kathy Waite
.	Lee Sheehy from the City of Minneapolis, CPED
.	Charleen Zimmer from Access Minneapolis
.	Dan Kenney from the Minnesota Ballpark Authority

In addition, DMNA Board Chair Kim Motes will give a "State of the
Neighborhood" address, updating residents on the organization's work over
the past year.  

Besides presentations from the listed speakers, there will also be elections
to the DMNA Board.  There are four seats up for election this year.  DMNA
Board members guide the organization, serve on committees, and attend the
monthly board meetings on the second Tuesday of every month.  

Please nominate yourself or an interested neighbor for a board seat via
email at info at thedmna.org.  To appear on the pre-printed ballot, please
contact the DMNA prior to November 7.  Please include the full name, place
of residence, and any other pertinent information about the candidate.  

Watch for more information about the annual meeting in upcoming editions of
the Downtown Journal and future emails from the DMNA.
