Carletta Sweet | Chair
Carletta is a homeowner at RiverWest Condominiums in the Downtown West neighborhood of Minneapolis and an editor for a small business consultancy also located in the Downtown West neighborhood.

Carletta promotes public and private sector collaborative relationships that foster affordable housing, business development, culture and educational opportunities for the residents, businesses, employees and visitors to the Central Business District of Minneapolis. To accomplish these goals she has forged relationships with such organizations as Aeon, the East Downtown Council, and 2020 Partners.

Carletta joined the DMNA to assist in making the downtown neighborhood attractive, safe, economically viable, and a great place to live, work, play and visit, similar to what she experienced during the renaissance in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s in the South Loop (Burnham Park Neighborhood) downtown community of Chicago, Illinois. Carletta has been a board member since 1998.

Dr. Wallace (Wally) Swan | Secretary

He has a Master of Arts in Public Administration fom the Humphrey Institute, a Master of Public Administration and a Doctor of Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, where he currently holds an appointment as an Instructor in Public Administration.

Corey Kline | Director
Corey Kline and his wife have been residents of the Mill District (Downtown East) since 2005.

He actively serves our community through volunteer commitments with an emphasis on youth organizations. Corey’s most significant volunteer contributions are to the Northern Star Council Boy Scouts of America (serving Minneapolis, St. Paul and surrounding areas).

In his professional life, Corey is an IT leader for a locally headquartered restaurant company with a focus on enterprise applications and risk management.

In his spare time, Corey enjoys the many hidden outdoor gems that the City of Minneapolis (particularly downtown) has to offer as an avid cyclist and runner. Corey joined the DMNA as a way to contribute to the health of the community in which he lives and to add a new dimension to the portfolio of volunteer commitments which energize the other areas of his life.

Paula Klimek | Treasurer
Paula is a 20 year downtown resident who loves living downtown and wants to serve on a board that promotes community and preserves our city and heritage.

Gerry Ewald | Vice Chair
Born and raised in St Paul, Gerry moved to the Downtown West neighborhood in October 2006. The commercial Interior Design firm he co-owns has been located in the North Loop for 5 years. He joined the DMNA to have a more active role in what is happening in his community. Gerry enjoys art, music, architecture and design. When the weather is nice he takes full advantage of the bike trails that connect Downtown with the rest of the city. Board member since 2008.

Andrew Hauer | Director, Chair of Land Use Committee

George Rosenquist | Director, Chair of Crime & Safety Committee
I was born and reared in Minneapolis and have lived all of my life in Minneapolis/Edina, the last 22 years being downtown at the Crossings.

My career was in the travel industry, where I was a Station Agent for Western Airlines and then a sales rep for Japan Airlines and Qantas Airways. I then managed the air-transportation department for the world’s largest up-scale incentive company before starting and operating three travel companies of my own.

My major interests for Downtown are Downtown are Downtown Development, Crime & Safety issues (especially on and around Hennepin Avenue) and improving the image of downtown (removing panhandlers, gangs of youth, etc) and making downtown an inviting and pedestrian friendly place.
